PLANTA: More Than a Restaurant, A Growing Community at Forum Marbella
Over the past year, Planta has undergone a meaningful evolution. What began as a restaurant within Forum Marbella has gradually grown into something broader: a place where gastronomy, community, wellbeing, culture and connection come together throughout the day. Rather than being defined by a single concept or experience, Planta has developed organically through a series of initiatives, collaborations and ideas that share a common purpose — creating a space where people can gather, learn, connect and feel inspired. Today, Planta is not simply a restaurant. It has become an ecosystem.

Planta Community: Building the Planta ecosystem
At the heart of this evolution is the community that has formed around the project.
Over the past year, Planta has expanded beyond traditional dining, developing a growing programme of experiences designed to bring people together through shared interests and meaningful encounters.
Community cocktails, cooking workshops, wellness sessions, talks, networking events and cultural gatherings have become part of the rhythm of the space, attracting residents, entrepreneurs, creatives and visitors from across Marbella and beyond.
What connects these experiences is a belief that hospitality can be much more than food and drink. It can create opportunities for learning, conversation and genuine human connection.
As a result, Planta has become a place where ideas are exchanged, friendships are formed and collaborations emerge naturally around a shared table.
A New Culinary Direction
Alongside the growth of its community, Planta has continued to refine its culinary offering.
The latest evolution introduces renewed breakfast and lunch menus designed around Mediterranean flavours, seasonal ingredients and a flexible approach to dining that adapts to the rhythms of contemporary life.
Rather than focusing on rigid meal occasions, the menus encourage guests to engage with food in a way that feels personal and intuitive, whether enjoying a nourishing breakfast, a working lunch or a leisurely meal shared with friends.
One of the most significant additions has been the introduction of the Breaking the Fast section, created in response to the growing interest in intermittent fasting and more mindful approaches to eating. Featuring balanced and nourishing dishes designed to gently reintroduce food after fasting periods, the concept reflects Planta’s ongoing commitment to wellbeing while remaining firmly rooted in Mediterranean culinary traditions.
The menus have also evolved to reflect the inclusive nature of the community that gathers at Planta. Even four-legged guests have their own dedicated menu, recognising the important role pets play in many people’s daily lives and reinforcing the welcoming atmosphere that has become synonymous with the space.
Beyond the Plate
The evolution of Planta extends beyond food.
Throughout the year, considerable attention has been given to the overall sensory experience of the space. Music has become an integral part of the atmosphere, with carefully curated playlists and soundscapes designed to accompany different moments of the day.
From slower morning frequencies that support focus and calm, to more social and uplifting rhythms later in the day, music contributes to the overall feeling of balance, comfort and connection that defines the Planta experience.
Together, these elements create an environment that encourages guests to stay longer, work, meet, relax and engage with the community around them.

A Space That Evolves Throughout the Day
One of the most distinctive aspects of Planta today is its ability to adapt to different moments and different audiences.
During the day, the space functions as a welcoming destination for breakfast, lunch, informal meetings and community gatherings. The atmosphere encourages guests to linger, work, connect and enjoy the slower rhythm that has become synonymous with the Planta experience.
This flexibility has allowed Planta to become much more than a restaurant. It has become a meeting point — a place where different ideas, cultures and conversations naturally intersect.

A Summer Collaboration
This summer marks the next chapter in Planta’s evolution through a collaboration with Zellij, a concept built around the idea that dining is about much more than food alone.
Rooted in Mediterranean influences and inspired by the movement of people, cultures and flavours across the region, Zellij brings a new energy to Forum Marbella while sharing many of the values that have shaped Planta throughout the year: hospitality, connection, discovery and a love of gathering around the table.
The collaboration feels particularly natural within the Planta ecosystem, bringing together two concepts connected by a shared appreciation for culture, hospitality and what Zellij describes as Mediterranean Cuisine in Motion.
During the day, the collaboration introduces Market by Zellij on the lower level, creating a complementary dynamic alongside Planta’s breakfast and lunch experience. Together, the two concepts offer different ways to enjoy the day while remaining part of the same ecosystem.
As evening approaches, the upper floor transforms into Zellij, introducing a new atmosphere centred around sharing plates, music, conversation and long summer dinners. Inspired by Moroccan hospitality and Mediterranean conviviality, the experience invites guests to slow down, connect and stay a little longer.
The experience continues downstairs, where the lower level evolves into an intimate gathering place centred around Moroccan mint tea, Arabic coffee and dates. Designed as a natural extension of the evening, it offers a space for conversation and connection long after dinner has ended.
Rather than introducing a separate destination, the collaboration expands the ecosystem that Planta has been building throughout the year — creating a journey that moves naturally from breakfast and community gatherings to dinner, music and late-night conversations.
Looking Ahead
More than a series of changes, the past year has been about refining and expanding the original vision behind Planta.
What started as a restaurant has grown into a platform for experiences, a home for a thriving community and a destination that continues to evolve alongside the people who visit it.
As Forum Marbella continues to develop as a place where hospitality, culture and lifestyle intersect, Planta remains at the heart of that journey — creating spaces, experiences and connections that extend far beyond the table.
